Recognition at St Helens Volunteers Luncheon - On Sunday 24th November

Dennis McDonnell attended the St Helens Volunteers Luncheon at the Town Hall — an event he was simply looking forward to enjoying. To his complete surprise, he was honoured to receive an award presented by the Deputy Mayor, Cllr Bisi Osundeko.
The Parks & Open Spaces Team had kindly nominated him in recognition of his work at Bankes Park, particularly for organising the VE Day Event. It was both unexpected and deeply appreciated by Dennis.
He commented ''It’s always nice to be recognised, but this award truly came as a surprise. I’m grateful for the support, and proud to be part of a community that values and celebrates the contributions of its volunteers".
Following the announcement, the Parish Council commented:
“We are not at all surprised. You fully deserve this accolade. Well done.”
